Shiba Inu devs have just announced the introduction of Shiba Lands, a virtual real estate, allowing token holders to own a part of the platform’s metaverse codenamed “Shiberse”.
The new year has brought good news for the dog-based meme coin Shiba Inu. At the time of writing Shiba Inu (SHIB) was around $0.000031 with a 24-hour trading volume of $3.235 billion. According to CoinMarketCap, the token has hit the $15.5 billion mark, putting it back in the top 15 cryptocurrency in terms of market-cap.
Shiba Inu Metaverse
The craze for metaverse seem to have no end. Many of the world’s prominent celebrities, athletes along with the largest technology companies are investing in the construction of the metaverse. In the latest development, Shiba Inu Ecosystem has announced that the Shib community will soon be able to purchase “lands” in the Shiba Inu Metaverse. Developers at Shiba Inu are working to implement a queue system, specifically designed for the Shiba Land sales event. This system will prevent gas fee and botting issues while making the process seamless for users globally. Shiba Inu emphasized that its token LEASH holders will be given priority in the queue for the Shiba Inu Metaverse Lands.
Inspired By Other Virtual Worlds
As per the blog post, inspired by virtual real estate platforms such as The Sandbox and Decentraland, the Shiba Inu metaverse will include virtual real estate that holders can buy or sell. Last month, Shiba Inu devs had announced a metaverse project that will be centered around the coin’s ecosystem. The virtual world will be an immersive digital universe where users can interact, shop for virtual assets and land, and participate in virtual events. LEASH holders will also gain priority access to the queue for the first phase of the Lands plot release. It will then open to the wider public. This is the latest example of upcoming use-cases for LEASH and BONE, two other tokens in the Shiba ecosystem.
Shiba Inu’s primary focus is just not to disrupt the Metaverse industry but many industries in and outside the crypto world. The Shiberse is touted as an immersive experience for users to have an escapade in the Metaverse. However, the SHIB team will release more details about Shiberse soon. The post stated,
