Editorial Policy

Last reviewed: September 2, 2026

Blockchain Journal is an independent digital publication covering blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies and digital assets. Our purpose is to explain material developments accurately and in context, not to promote tokens, products or investment strategies.

Selection and editorial oversight

Topics are selected for newsworthiness, technical relevance, regulatory impact, market structure and consequences for users or institutions. A named human editor or contributor remains accountable for every published item. Editorial leadership may revise, delay or decline work that does not meet sourcing, disclosure or quality standards.

Sourcing and verification

Reporting favors primary documents, official statements, regulatory records, court materials, protocol documentation, on-chain data and direct evidence. Secondary reporting is attributed. Anonymous sourcing is used only when the information is important, the source has a credible basis to know it and disclosure could create a material risk; the relevant editor must know the source’s identity. Unverified claims, estimates and developing information are labeled as such.

Quotes must preserve meaning. Images, charts and data require an attributable source where the origin is not Blockchain Journal. Plagiarism, fabricated quotations, invented sources and manipulation of evidence are prohibited.

News, analysis and opinion

News reporting, analysis, opinion and paid material must be distinguishable. Opinion represents the author’s view. Market and price coverage is informational and does not constitute personalized financial advice or a prediction of returns.

Conflicts and holdings

Contributors must disclose relevant financial, employment, advisory or personal conflicts to the editor. No contributor may accept tokens, equity, gifts or other consideration in exchange for coverage. A material conflict is handled through disclosure, additional oversight, reassignment or recusal. Editorial decisions remain separate from advertisers, sponsors and commercial partners.

Commercial and affiliate material

Paid content is clearly labeled and governed by the Sponsored Content Policy. Affiliate relationships, when present, follow the Affiliate Disclosure. Commercial arrangements do not determine independent coverage, headlines or conclusions.

External contributions

Guest commentary is identified, edited and checked for relevant disclosures. External submissions are not a route to disguised promotion. Press releases may be used as sources but are not republished as independent reporting without editorial transformation, verification and clear attribution.

Responsible use of artificial intelligence

AI tools may assist transcription, translation, research organization or production. They are not authors and do not replace human verification. A human remains responsible for every claim, source and final publication. Material automated contribution that readers reasonably need to understand may be disclosed.

Corrections, updates and removals

Material errors are corrected promptly and transparently under our Corrections Policy. Accurate reporting is not removed merely because it is inconvenient. Privacy, safety, copyright and binding legal requests receive an evidence-based review.
