Blockchain Journal may publish paid or sponsored material while maintaining a strict separation between commercial activity and independent reporting.
Visible identification
Paid material is labeled at the beginning of the page with clear language such as “Sponsored” or “Paid Content”. The label is not hidden in metadata, a footer or a generic author name. Sponsored material is not presented as independent journalism.
Responsibility and review
Sponsors are responsible for substantiating claims and providing accurate supporting material. Blockchain Journal also performs a human review and will not knowingly publish misleading or unlawful advertising. Payment does not remove the publication’s responsibility to reject deceptive claims, fabricated evidence or an unsafe presentation.
Crypto-specific restrictions
We reject guaranteed-return claims, fabricated scarcity or urgency, undisclosed token compensation, impersonation, phishing, unsubstantiated regulatory status, deceptive performance figures and “get-rich-quick” narratives. We may request evidence concerning ownership, authorization, product availability, security claims or regulatory status. Acceptance of a campaign is never a certification of a project.
Editorial separation
Sponsors do not control independent story selection, headlines, framing or conclusions. Sponsored material follows a separate commercial review and does not receive favorable news coverage in exchange for payment.
Links, schema and disclosure
Commercial links use appropriate attributes such as rel="sponsored" where technically applicable. Sponsored articles should use the appropriate paid-content structured-data type when available and must not be represented as independent news in visible copy or metadata.
AI, updates and removal
Automation used by a sponsor does not reduce the requirement for human review or disclosure. Blockchain Journal may reject, amend, annotate or remove paid material that becomes inaccurate, misleading, unlawful or inconsistent with platform policies. Material post-publication changes should be recorded where they affect reader understanding.
