The former first lady of the United States of America, Melania Trump, has become the latest public figure to join the crypto-boom by releasing her own line-up of NFT collection.
According to an announcement on December 16th, the former FLOTUS, Melania Trump is slated to release her own non fungible token (NFT) platform that utilizes the Solana blockchain and will accept the native token of the project as well as credit cards payment using MoonPay. Besides, the NFT platform in question is powered by social media company, Parler.
Melania’s Vision
The NFT collection showcases digital art, physical artwork and physical one-of-a-kind accessory which will be available exclusively on Melaniatrump.com at regular intervals. The first NFT in the line-up, titled “Melania’s Vision,” will be available to purchase for a limited period in the coming Christmas week between December 16 and December 31. The token depicts a water-colored painting of her eyes by Marc-Antoine Coulon, one of the world’s leading fashion artist. The digital piece-of-art carrying an audio recording from Mrs. Trump offering a message of hope is set to be sold at 1 SOL (nearly $176, at the time of writing).
Charity through NFT
According to the announcement, a portion of the sales from the Melania Trump NFT will go towards helping underprivileged children in foster homes in the hope to empower them by providing computer science skills including programming and software development through her public-awareness campaign, “Be Best”. Unlike Donald Trump’s negative stance on digital assets, Mrs. Trump seems to be quite vocal regarding the crypto-space. The project marks the first public endeavor of Melania Trump since leaving office a year ago. She was quoted saying,
“Since leaving the White House, I have envisioned creating a new platform where Freedom of Speech can flourish. My new NFT gallery, MelaniaTrump.com, uses the decentralized nature of Blockchain Technology, and gives a direct connection to people worldwide.”

The latest development comes at a time when The NFT space has catapulted to soaring heights generating several hundred million dollars in transactions every month.
