Chinese cyber security experts Tencent have discovered a bug in the NEO client that allows hackers to remotely steal tokens from users' wallets, Block Manity reports, citing Chinese social platform Weibo.
Tencent recommends that node holders update their default configuration to the latest available software version, as well as manually change the wallet address.
At the same time, experts advise to avoid using a remote procedure call, or to change the port to implement RPC functions.
Recall that in May , a vulnerability with a limited degree of risk, which affected several NEP-5 tokens, was detected in the NEO smart contract code. By changing the totalSupply parameter within the contract, the attacker could burn a certain number of tokens or increase their displayed number.
