Trust Wallet taps Revolut for crypto purchases in Europe

Trust Wallet and Revolut announced a partnership that enables instant crypto purchases routed directly into users’ self-custodial wallets across the EU and EEA. The integration, enabled by Revolut’s newly obtained MiCA licence, initially supports Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), USDC and USDT.

Revolut’s MiCA licence, obtained via Cyprus in 2025, provides cross‑border regulatory permission to operate crypto services across roughly 30 EEA markets; MiCA is the EU regulatory framework for crypto-asset markets. The partnership uses RevolutPay, debit and credit cards, and bank transfers as payment rails, and sets purchase limits from €10 to €23.000 per transaction and per day.

Revolut has said some buys will carry “zero Revolut fees” at the point of purchase, while standard funding costs to top up a Revolut account may still apply — for example, cash deposits could face a 1,5% fee up to a stated monthly threshold of $3.000. Revolut’s scale — a recent valuation reported at $75 billion — underpins the payment capacity for the rollout.

Operational takeaway: traders should factor payment funding costs and per‑transaction caps when sizing initial on‑ramp flows.

How Trust Wallet taps Revolut for crypto purchases

Purchased tokens are delivered directly into the buyer’s Trust Wallet rather than held custodially by the payments provider; self-custody means private keys are controlled only by the user and not by a third party. Trust Wallet supports more than 10 million assets across over 100 blockchains and reports a user base exceeding 220 million, offering a broad and mobile‑centric interface for immediate asset control.

The initial asset set is deliberately narrow — BTC, ETH, SOL, USDC, USDT — with an explicit roadmap to add further tokens. Operational takeaway: portfolio and treasury managers who prioritize control over counterparty exposure can route on‑ramps straight to self‑custody, but must manage private‑key security and custody operational procedures.

The integration pairs Revolut’s regulated European payment footprint with Trust Wallet’s self‑custody infrastructure, creating a compliant channel for instant buys that preserves user ownership.
