Lucien Chen, technical director of the TRON crypto project, left the team, saying that the TRX network is no longer decentralized.
Lucien Chen with the scandal left the project TRON, because, according to his claims, TRX no longer corresponds to the original concept of the creators. The former technical director explained his position. In his Medium post, Chen said that he left the project because he was mildly sad to see how TRON began to move away from achieving the goal, which was “decentralizing the Internet”.
The first problem – TRON is no longer decentralized, in particular, Chen drew attention to the centralization of voting. According to the technical director, the voices of ordinary retail investors are not taken into account. The second problem – TRON is still too far from the Internet, since, according to Chen, real Internet applications cannot function on the TRON network. So, TRON's decentralized applications are just a game and a way to raise funds. The third problem is, in general, the departure of the TRON project from the initial development goal of the blockchain. Chen says that everything is centralized in the project: distribution of tokens, development of code, supernods, and even society took on the spirit of centralization.
Chen is very sorry that the project that he created turned into something else – all the dreams, the vision shared with Chen Justin Sun are destroyed. After much thought, Chen decided to take up the development of the Volume Network (VOL), a new project that, according to Chen, was supposed to be TRON.
