Based in the Czech Republic, the developer of software solutions Braiins Systems, which is the operator of the first mining pool in history – Slush Pool, introduced Braiins OS with an open source based on the Linux operating system family, in particular – OpenWrt.

The developers stressed that in the future, the system can be used to solve various problems, including the management of complete bit-and-lightning-nodes from single-board computers. Nevertheless, the first use of Braiins OS will be mining devices.

We are proud to announce https://t.co/T6yDfIgraT , the very first #opensource OS for miners ⛏️ which was finally finished during # bh2018 !

    And what's in your #miner ? https://t.co/Um2kFie6Fm

It is noted that the new operating system standardizes the principles of device operation and interaction with Slush Pool. Moreover, with the help of Braiins, users should gain full control over the miners in order to avoid the manufacturers implementing various exploits in the firmware of their products.

It is noteworthy that the Slush Pool blog has a link to the description of the backdoor Antbleed, which Bitmain allegedly implemented into the firmware of all Antminer.

Braiins OS analyzes the device's operating environment, processes errors, and provides performance data.

Nevertheless, the system is still at the alpha testing stage and is not ready for use on a large scale.

At the moment the product is only available for Antminer S9 and DragonMint T1.

Earlier, Bitmain introduced a high-performance chip BM1391 based on 7nm process technology. The energy efficiency of the product is 42 J / TH.
