Co-founder Zach Harvey blog notes that other jurisdictions Switzerland distinguish openness to innovation and development of the regulatory framework. Also, according to him, Lamassu had long experienced difficulties with banking services, but now this problem has been solved.

“Fifteen banks rejected us only for the fact that we produce terminals for Bitcoin. I note that our company produces only hardware and does not trade or store cryptocurrencies , ”says Harvey.

Lamassu has so far been able to successfully negotiate with a “small bank in the canton of Aargau” and open an account. According to Harvey, the bank reacted favorably to the business model of Lamassu. Now the company is even planning to place its cryptometer on the territory of the financial institution.

Among other things, Harvey expressed regret that one day the famous payment processing Stripe had ceased to cooperate with Lamassu. This was done only because the company’s website had the word “bitcoin”.

“If Stripe were a Swiss company, then perhaps this would not have happened. She [Stripe] would be able to reach companies that are experimenting with innovative technologies, ” he added.

Lamassu was founded in the middle of 2013 by Zach Harvey, Josh Harvey and Matt Whitlock. In less than a year since its foundation, the company has sold over 220 devices.

Lamassu production facilities are located in Portugal. The devices created by the company support Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Dash, Litecoin, Zcash, Monero and Dogecoin cryptocurrencies.

Cryptomatics from Lamassu are located mainly in the USA and EU countries.
