The launch of new models of ASIC miners caused a record increase in the hashrate of the Bitcoin network

Bitcoin mining is the most important driver for the development of the crypto world. At the beginning of the last full week of August, the combined SHA-256 hash between the Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash networks exceeded 91 exhash per second.

This record is due to the fact that modern ASIC miners began to work in the fields, among which stands out Microbt Whatsminer M20S from Pangolin, which is capable of generating 68-70 terahash per second. Power consumption is about 3.36 thousand watts, and also has a significant high noise level (about 75 decibels).

In 2019, the main manufacturers of equipment for mining farms are such players as Bitmain, Pangolin, Innosilicon, Ebang, Strongu, Asicminer and Canaan. Of these seven players, Pangolin, Innosilicon, Bitmain and Strongu, that is, four, introduced new mining machines this year to the public.

In addition to the Microbt Whatsminer M20S, another important innovation is the Asicminer 8 Nano Pro, which has a capacity of 76 terahash per second. But there is a nuance: the equipment, on the one hand, is already completely sold out, and on the other hand, there are also negative reviews on the secondary market.

Traditionally, for the most part, investors in mining equipment rejoice at the latest from Bitmain, a corporation that was able to get through “fire, water and copper pipes” during the development of the cryptocurrency market. As a result, Antminer S17 Pro series (53 terahash / sec) and S17 (56 terahash / sec) machines, as well as the budget Antminer S9 are in demand now .

All new machines from Bitmain S17 series are available for purchase, and the price per unit of such equipment ranges from 2.727 thousand to 2.969 thousand dollars. Depending on the model, the amount of power consumed varies from 1.975 thousand to 2.52 thousand watts.
