Owned by the Winklevoss brothers, Gemini, a cryptographic exchange, announced a partnership with the Flexa payment network, thanks to which large American retailers will start accepting cryptocurrencies for payment.

According to Tyler Winkloss, now users of the mobile application SPEDN can pay for purchases in the following digital currencies:

We're excited to announce our partnership with @FlexaHQ at # Consensus2019 . This partnership enables select retailers to accept #crypto payments in stores. Spend your crypto in person, on the go! #CryptoNotCredit https://t.co/5dIUjkZ4q5 pic.twitter.com/j9jSSGrCvX

In particular, users will be able to spend cryptocurrency in the networks of Baskin Robbins, Nordstrom, Whole Foods, Crate & Barrel.

According to the CEO of the Morgan Creek Digital Asset Management Digital Fund, Anthony Pompiano, you can also spend bitcoins in the famous Starbucks coffeehouse chain.

BREAKING: Whole Foods, Starbucks, and other retailers are now accepting Bitcoin in stores with @Gemini 's help.

Don't listen to the trolls. We're watching a new global currency being right in front of us.

    THE VIRUS IS SPREADING! ?

According to Fortune , the Flexa network “persuaded retailers, including Regal Cinemas, Gamestop and Baskin Robbins, to configure their scanners to recognize payments coming from a cryptocurrency application called SPEDN”.

“To pay, the client only needs to bring the application. The store cashier, as a rule, does not even know that the customer is paying with a cryptocurrency. At the same time, the merchant receives real-time payments in the chosen currency — cryptoactive assets or dollars. ”

The author also noted that he personally tested the application:

“The application seems to perform the stated functions. This weekend I tried to download a test version of SPEDN and transferred bitcoins worth $ 10 to it. Then I went to Baskin Robbins and with the help of the app I got coffee there. It worked. After that I went to Starbucks (another project partner, but unofficial) and bought a banana. That worked too. In each case, the application adjusted the bitcoin balance in my wallet. ”

The twin brothers company will also take over the function of storing cryptocurrency assets that users will transfer to their accounts in SPEDN.
