Representatives of Forbes on the eve reported that the Irish crypto-exchange Bitsane, which offered spot trading to its users and became popular primarily as one of the first platforms in the listing of which the Ripple appeared, went offline and deleted accounts in social networks .
According to Forbes, Bitsane representatives are not responding to emails. At CoinMarketCap, information on trading activity on Bitsane has not been updated for 10 days. Exchange users reportedly lost between $ 5,000 and $ 150,000. A user who lost $ 150,000 told Forbes that he had repeatedly tried to exchange XRP funds for Bitcoin or Fiat, but the system kept saying that it was impossible to perform an operation. Even then, the user suspected something was wrong, returning shortly thereafter to the site, he found that the Bitsane platform was not available at all.
The launch of Bitsane was held in 2016. The general director of the exchange is Aidas Rupsis, the technical director is Dmitry Prudnikov. In Forbes, they note that Prudnikov’s LinkedIn account has been deleted; both of them don’t contact.
Some users suspect that Bitsane Limited, the founder of which is Maxim Zmitrovich, may be related to the scam. Representatives of Forbes managed to contact Zmitrovich, he denies involvement in the scam and said that he had not been in contact with Prudnikov for more than 5 months.
