The head of the Binance Cryptocurrency Exchange, Changpen Zhao, decided to share with the whole crypto-community a special message that contains his thoughts on the cryptoindustry, its results for 2018, and plans for the near future. The letter analyzed the failures and successes of the company, announced prospects for the next year.
Difficult year for the whole crypto industry
First of all, Zhao considers the negative moments of the outgoing year :
- The sharp drop in prices for all cryptocurrency assets.
- Many ICO projects have not implemented their plans for 2018.
- Some exchanges were hacked by intruders.
- Lack of regulatory clarity hinders the development of the industry.
- The lack of unity in the community leads to a further fall in prices.
What did Binance do for 2018?
"In the midst of chaos, the exchange retains the desire for proclaimed values ," writes the head of the exchange.
- Binance launched exchanges working with Fiat cryptocurrency pairs in Uganda and Jersey. The company plans to open several more similar sites.
- Work continues on its own blockchain Binance Chain.
- Binance launched the Binance Labs investment fund and financed 23 projects.
- The educational portal Binance Academy and the research system Binance Research are launched.
- Binance bought Trust Wallet to create a reliable wallet using several cryptocurrencies.
- Constantly improving the protection of users, and also created a fund for insuring users from accidental losses.
Exchange plans for 2019
“I’m not a great professional when dealing with a crystal ball, but I can say that the blockchain remains, the cryptocurrency remains and Binance remains,” Changpeng Zhao wrote optimistically.
