Jack Dorsey, the creator of Twitter, made it clear that he has no desire to create his own currency, like, for example, Facebook – he aims to help spread the Bitcoin cryptocurrency.

During his visit to Australia to promote the services of Square, a digital payment company, Dorsey stated that open Internet standards were more effective for everyone than the standards introduced by or under their control.

Dorsey noted that he was not interested in creating his own currency for Twitter or Square – he would prefer to use the existing "open standards", in particular Bitcoin. The head of Twitter considers BTC the best option, since the cryptocurrency has demonstrated viability – Bitcoin has been working for 10 years, has an excellent brand and successfully passed testing. Considering all the current cryptocurrencies, Dorsey believes that Bitcoin actually has the potential to receive the status of a native Internet currency.

Dorsi arrived in Australia to present Square Terminal – a new payment device that will allow small businesses to abandon the traditional equipment offered by banking institutions. Dorsey noted that Square's development model will allow the company to survive the recession as well as the trade war between China and the United States.
