The High Court of London refused to consider the claim for the protection of honor and dignity, which the self-proclaimed Bitcoin creator Craig Wright filed against Bitcoin.com CEO Roger Vera. The court did not see sufficient grounds for the proceedings in the British jurisdiction, and also did not find the alleged damage.
So, in one of the videos on Youtube, which also fell on Twitter, Ver called the statements of Wright that he created Bitcoin, a lie. Considering that the Bitcoin community is scattered around the world and only 7% of those who turned out to be British, Judge Matthew Nicklin did not find sufficient evidence that Wright’s reputation had suffered in the UK. In his opinion, more substantial grounds for a claim may be in the United States.
At the same time, Niklin noted that he did not understand at all how exactly Wright's reputation suffered.
Recall the lawsuit was filed in May of this year. Then Wer commented on the situation as follows.
“It annoys me that I have to spend money on lawyers instead of developing useful tools, but I don’t worry at all.”
Earlier in the Kleiman v. Wright case , another contender for the title of the creator of Bitcoin appeared – Belgian Debo Jürgen Étienne Guido.
