Yahoo's second largest search engine launches a cryptocurrency exchange in Japan. Initially, the new venture, known as Taotao, will only offer trading services for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), as well as the marginal sale of Ripple (XRP), Cash Bitcoin (BCH) and Litecoin (LTC).
The company has already begun to adapt customers. Users can register on the stock exchange in advance to prepare for launch and take part in an advertising campaign.
Taotao received regulatory approval. In addition, the company is a member of the Japan Self-Regulatory Body of the Japan Virtual Exchange Exchange Association (JVCEA), which manages cryptocurrency exchange operations.
Yahoo! first announced the launch of the exchange in March 2018. At that time, the company was going to acquire a large stake in the trading platform through its subsidiary. This step suggests that the Internet giant is ready to take a strong position in the emerging crypto industry.
