At least 4,836 BTCs stolen from the Binance bitcoin exchange were washed through the Chipmixer bitcoin mixer, according to a report by Clain, the supplier of KYC / AML solutions for the cryptocurrency industry.

So, hackers began to launder funds on June 12 – a month after the sensational hack, as a result of which attackers managed to steal 7000 BTC. Clain researchers discovered a pool of addresses to which coins were originally transferred, and then used a neural network to identify further movements of funds.

Thus, they were able to determine that a significant part of the stolen bitcoins passed through Chipmixer. At the exit, they recorded 150 clusters of 10 BTC or more in each: of which 183 BTC are precisely connected with hackers, and another 814 BTC, most likely, can also be related to their addresses. However, the researchers were unable to confirm that the funds were then transferred to exchanges.

At the same time, hacker Bnatov Platon, who claims to have the names of hackers and an insider who helped them carry out the crime, said that bitcoins were laundered through Bitmex, Yobit, KuCoin and Huobi.

He also began to distribute personal data, which supposedly belong to Binance users, through Telegram channels. For information about his identity, the exchange offers 25 BTC. Read more about this story at the link:
