Shiba Inu’s Layer-2 Network Shibarium Prepares for a New Launch

Shiba Inu (SHIB), a popular meme-based cryptocurrency, is getting ready to relaunch its own layer-2 network, Shibarium, after facing some technical difficulties in its initial launch. Shibarium is a blockchain platform that aims to provide low-cost and high-performance solutions for the metaverse, gaming, and decentralized finance (DeFi) sectors.

Shibarium’s Developers Continue to Work Hard to Fix Post-Launch-Issues

Shibarium was first launched on August 16, 2023, but it encountered some network issues that caused transactions to be halted for nearly 11 hours. The development team explained that the problem was caused by a surge in user traffic that exceeded the server capacity. As a result, millions of dollars worth of tokens were stuck on a bridge between Shibarium and Ethereum.

The team decided to temporarily close the network to the public and work on fixing the issues. According to Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous lead developer of Shiba Inu, the network has been improved and optimized after two days of testing and adjustments.

He said that the network is now producing blocks and has a new monitoring system and additional fail-safes. He also said that the network is close to being ready for a public relaunch.

Kusama also addressed some of the fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) that has been spreading within the community. The FUD is often used to manipulate market sentiment or promote alternative products. He pointed out that some of the past criticisms, such as doubts about Shibarium’s launch or concerns over decentralization, have been proven wrong.

He mentioned that he will continue to disprove any future FUD through dedication to the project’s ethos and continuous development. Also expressed his eagerness to collaborate with protocols, individuals, and projects that are ready to work on Shibarium.

The developer mentioned that there will be many platforms available on Shibarium, similar to Ethereum, but he advised users to do their research (DYOR) before engaging with any project or platform on Shibarium.
