ETHEREUM SCROLL

Scroll, a Layer 2 (L2) Ethereum network using null-knowledge proofs (zkEVM), has officially unveiled its mainnet.

This marks a significant milestone in the field of blockchain scalability and the projects that are already part of the ecosystem.

The main goal of the project is to provide users and developers with an Ethereum-like experience, while significantly reducing fees, increasing transaction speeds, and achieving unlimited scalability.

The successful mainnet launch follows more than 15 months of rigorous testing and security audits, in close collaboration with the Ethereum Foundation and the open source community.

Scroll has pioneered zkEVM technology, a unique innovation that supports EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) at the bytecode level.

The launch of the Scroll mainnet is of great importance for both Scroll and Ethereum. Expands the possibilities of decentralized applications and seamless value transfers.

Ecosystem Roadmap

In its initial stages, Scroll will focus on onboarding infrastructure providers, including node operators and validators.

As part of its roadmap, the team intends to develop a decentralized testnet and sequencer, which will enable future airdrops and coin issuance.

The performance and potential of Scroll testing is evident, with over 450,000 smart contracts deployed, over 90 million transactions processed, and 280,000 zk tests generated.

Scroll officially launches Ethereum Layer 2

Sandy Peng, co-founder of Scroll, emphasizes the platform’s goal of improving user and developer experiences while driving the adoption of Layer 2 solutions on Ethereum.

The zkEVM technology, in particular, excels at efficiently bundling tests, resulting in faster transaction speeds and reduced costs, all while maintaining compatibility at the bytecode level.

In addition to their existing innovations, the Scroll team is actively developing a second SGX-based “prover” to enable a Multi-Prover in Scroll. This development ensures continuous operation even if the sequencer goes offline, further improving the robustness of the platform.

Scroll Firmly Rooted in Community Empowerment

Through global developer engagement initiatives, workshops, and educational activities related to zero-knowledge research, Scroll has fostered connections with individuals around the world.

Operating in 26 different countries, the distributed Scroll team fosters collaboration and interaction within local communities.

As one of the most significant zkEVM networks on Ethereum, Scroll offers an attractive solution that closely resembles Ethereum, while improving features and benefits.

The launch of the mainnet heralds an exciting new era of scalability and progress, not just for Scroll, but for the entire Ethereum ecosystem, promising lower costs, faster speeds, and virtually unlimited potential for blockchain applications.
