The news that the Coinbase exchange plans to expand the list of available crypto-currencies has influenced the growth of Ripple (XRP).
It should be noted that the price for XRP has grown even last week. This happened right after Ripple hinted that their xRapid product could be launched in the coming months, and that the regional bank PNC Financial Services Group (PNC) would join RippleNet.
The next surge in prices came after the Coinbase exchange had defined the listing rules for the new altcoins, and also announced a significant expansion of the list of available digital assets. 
Everyone expects that the 3rd largest crypto currency XRP will cooperate with Coinbase and this of course affects the price increase.
At the time of writing, Ripple (XRP) has a market capitalization of $ 21 billion, like the second largest crypto currency, Ethereum (ETH).
