PlanB Twitter cryptocurrency analyst wrote that 800,000 bitcoin addresses (BTCs) store more than one BTC . At the time of writing, one BTC was trading at $ 10,300.

PlanB also adds that some crypto investors have more than one address for risk sharing, so only about 400,000 individuals have access to at least one BTC.

It is noteworthy that the figure of 800,000 includes the addresses of cryptocurrency exchanges , which combine the funds of users into one cold storage wallet.

About 800,000 #bitcoin addresses with more than 1BTC / $ 10k (including exchanges) in the world.

Assuming real hodlers know rule 1 and have their own keys (don't leave btc on exchanges) and have more than 1 address .. there are less than 400k hodlers .. that's how early we are? pic.twitter.com/NUBOpDxjaE

According to the founder of the TruStory platform, Prity Kasyreddy, only 2% of bitcoin addresses control 80% of the total bitcoin emission. Ari Paul, IT director of investment company BlockTower, does not agree with this data, who believes that the “percentage of addresses” does not make sense. You can create a million new addresses and this will distort the data.

However, if we take into account the number of addresses containing at least one billionth of a bitcoin turnover, distribution is not a problem, since the number of new addresses continues to grow every day.

According to BitInfoCharts , there are more than 20 million bitcoin addresses in the world that store at least $ 1 in BTC. The number of addresses that host at least one bitcoin exceeds 792,420, which is approximately 95.45% of the total.

BitInfoCharts also claims that the ten most significant bitcoin wallets belong to cryptocurrency exchanges, they store about 727,000 BTC, which is 4% of the total offer.

According to a Chainalysis report, 3.8 million BTCs were lost forever, including 700,000 BTCs by Satoshi Nakamoto , since not one bitcoin was moved from the addresses that Nakamoto used. These 3.8 million coins make up 20% of the current offer.
