The words of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, said at a meeting with the head of Gazprom, were heard.

In Russia, an interest in blockchain and cryptocurrency has recently become obvious. The first wave of interest came in the period of the Gaidar Forum in February 2019, during which Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev called for “not burying” cryptocurrency , and the underlying technology at the heart of digital assets once again attracted attention. At the same time, the independent director of Gazprom, Vladimir Mau, said that cryptocurrency has a future.

On April 4, Dmitry Medvedev met with the head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, during which it became known that one of the world's largest energy companies was starting to use distributed registry technology . The head of the Cabinet set a vector of interest in the blockchain, which was called “modern advanced technology”, which has “a good future in our industry”. Thus, the second wave of interest in these new financial technologies began.

Blockchain can be spread, including outside the purely economic sphere. So, on April 10, the chairman of the Court of Intellectual Property Rights Lyudmila Novoselova said:

“It is necessary to develop services related to the possibility of out-of-court conflict resolution. The blockchain gives you certain opportunities. ”

Moreover, it was mentioned that the world already has experience in creating appropriate mechanisms.

In the regional context, the blockchain + cryptocurrency complex of tools can work within the framework of the planned “regulatory sandboxes”. Such interaction will be carried out through the regional administration – the Ministry of Economic Development.

As has told the head of the Kaliningrad region Alihanov Anton, referring to the new financial technologies, "Kaliningrad region is ready to develop these areas, including the project" Regulatory sandbox "." The governor of the region stressed that "a relevant bill is being prepared now, and we, of course, will strive to become a pilot region."

Recall that according to a number of experts, cryptocurrencies are necessary for the successful use of the blockchain, as, for example, explained by Bitfury vice president Georgy Kikvadze.
