Bitcoin investor and host of the Bitcoin Knowledge podcast Trace Meier reported on problems with a number of platforms amid the Proof of Keys promotion.
Added a Failures section to https://t.co/7i8F58PS38 #failures
So far, reported failures at: @hitBTC , @PurseIO , @bitfinex , @Poloniex & @coinbase .
Anyone else encountered any unusual issues or problems with #ProofOfKeys withdrawals?

According to Mayer, the Failures section appeared on the promotion’s website , where information about failures of various platforms, presumably related to mass user requests for withdrawals, is published. In particular, this site says about:
- HitBTC , which froze user accounts
- exchanges Bitfinex, Poloniex, Coinbase Pro
- Purse and Robinhood platforms
Relevant links on the Trace Meier website lead either to official platform tweets, or to messages from disgruntled users telling about difficulties with withdrawing funds.
So, the Bitfinex exchange reported about problems on the platform, without specifying exactly which ones, but assuring users that all funds were safe:
We are aware of some issues on our platform and are working quickly to resolve. Please be assured all funds are safe. We appreciate your patience.

Under Bitfinex tweet, a cascade of comments soon appeared, which mostly refers to the failure of the Proof of Keys test by the exchange.

A Twitter user named Placerville reported that the Poloniex Exchange every day created some obstacles for him:
Problems view've had I of with @Poloniex the four days for last-making me jump through hoops Trying to transfer the get. Everyday is a new hoop and a day delay.
I've never had this problem before.– Placerville (@ megacity_4) 3 січня 2019 р.
Prior to this, Placerville notes, he did not notice anything like this for Poloniex.
# 1 They didn’t like to respond.
# 2 They didn't like my wallet address; I want to give you a copy of the wallet and date.
# 3 Not enough, I need to install.– Placerville (@ megacity_4) 3 січня 2019 р.
“# 1 They didn’t like my computer, it took a whole day to answer. # 2 They didn’t like the address of my wallet. They wanted me to send a photo with the type and amount of the transaction, the last six digits of the wallet and the date. # 3 That's not all – now they asked to record a video through their application, which I needed to install. ”
Senior Crypto user told Trais Meier that the Proof of Keys had a negative impact on the Purse wallet, which suspended the withdrawal of funds without giving reasons:
@TraceMayer It looks like #ProofOfKeys has impacted @PurseIO somehow. They have halted withdrawals without explanation. ? pic.twitter.com/qAyeg2kWRN

A similar situation with the platform Robinhood:
@RobinhoodApp
Failed Proof of Keys 2019
Promised and Did Not Deliver.

At this time we don’t support coin withdrawals, though

Problems with the BTC / USD trading pair on the Coinbase Pro exchange began in late December:
[status] Investigating: We are currently investigating issues on the BTC-USD order book. https://t.co/xIjStLRlCw

The annual promotion Proof of Keys is designed to remind users that the funds belong only to themselves, and not to centralized platforms.
“Not your keys are not your bitcoins,” the promotion website says.
Earlier, HitBTC reported to BlockchainJournal that withdrawal problems are related to the KYC / AML procedure, and not to Proof Of Keys.
BlockchainJournal continues to monitor the progress of the action.
