Peru opened exchangers for buying and selling cryptocurrency offline

Currently, Peru has two exchange offices that allow for the exchange of cryptocurrencies for fiat money offline. One of the exchange points is located in the capital of Peru, Lima, and the second is in Arequipa.

Both exchange points belong to the local crypto operator 9780bitcoin.com . The exchange office in Arequipa has been working since August of last year, and the Moscow branch opened in February 2019.

Sergio Rivera Velarde (Sergio Rivera Velarde), manager of Peruvian crypto-barges 9780bitcoin.com:

“We understand that personal contact is required when performing transactions by non-specialized users. In our exchange offices, we often serve the elderly or those who know absolutely nothing about cryptocurrencies and buy them for the first time. ”

Rivera also said that in the near future, in addition to Bitcoin , Ethereum , Zcash , Dash and Bitcoin gold , in exchange offices it will be possible to exchange Litecoin , Stellar and Ripple for fiat currency.

Despite the interest of users to various cryptoactive assets, 90% of exchange operations fall on Bitcoin. This is logical, taking into account the fact that Bitcoin is a pioneer of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, and also has the highest market capitalization and supports the dominance of more than 50%.

Exchange offices owned by 9780bitcoin.com, working both online and offline, charge a commission of 5% from each transaction.

Recall that the regulatory framework for the circulation of cryptocurrency in Peru at the state level has not yet been agreed. Nevertheless, the authorities are paying close attention to the cryptocurrency ecosystem in response to the growing interest of citizens.

A week ago, Coinbase crypto-exchange expanded its geographic presence in Latin America and Southeast Asia by starting to provide its services to users from Peru who were able to store, send and receive cryptoactives, as well as trade them at Coinbase Pro, Coinbase.com sites and in applications for iOS – and Android devices.
