Melbourne has become the birthplace of the new blockchain hub, where NEM representatives will be engaged in the study and promotion of the blockchain's skid.

About the activities of the blockchain hub

The hub will organize educational programs and blockchain events. It will also serve as an incubator for startups on the NEM blockchain.

The NEM Foundation already had a number of agreements with New Zealand and Australian companies, so opening the hub was only a matter of time.

The New Economy Movement (NEM) was founded in 2015 as a blockchain platform for new ideas. The native token of the XEM platform significantly increased in price due to all the new connections of the company, in particular, thanks to an agreement with the commercial blockchain Mijin. Now NEM is promoting the blockchain through grants and other donations.

Gian Chan, head of the NEM Foundation for Australia, believes that the opening of the hub shows how NEM supports innovation in Australia and the world. According to Chan, NEM is already present in one way or another in 40 countries. The first operations in Australia began after the company was introduced at FinTech Australia Intersekt last year.

Back in 2016, the government of the Australian state of Victoria launched LaunchVic, a startup support program. Its executive director, Kate Kornik, also commented on the discovery of the hub, because it was opened in this state:

“Blockchain is a fast-growing and evolving technology. LaunchVic welcomes the NEM.io Foundation and their hub. It will bring cooperation between different startups from different sectors of the economy to a new level. ”

NEM also announced a desire to cooperate with more Australian companies, and also planned ICO on its blockchain.
