As we approach the event expected by many representatives of the crypto community, the launch of GlobalCoin cryptocurrency from Facebook, many details about the development of the Libra project become known.
According to CNBS, at least 100 people are currently involved in the GlobalCoin creation process. Such conclusions were made during the analysis of data posted on the professional social network LinkedIn. In addition, Facebook is still looking for new employees – according to the official website of the company, more than 40 vacancies remain open.
The company notes that the main goal of the new project is to provide billions of people with access to services that they currently cannot use, it can be a question of healthcare, fair financial services, new methods of storing and distributing information.
The head of the blockchain project from Facebook is David Markus, who previously served on the board of directors of the large crypto exchange Coinbase, and also served as president of PayPal. It is known that GlobalCoin will be a stablebcoin, the rate of which will be pegged to a basket of currencies, namely USD, EUR, JPY. Most likely GlobalCoin can be used in Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp, since the company planned to integrate the work of instant messengers. On the eve it became known that the launch of GlobalCoin may take place by the end of June.
