Moscow law enforcement authorities detained two suspects of fraud with cryptocurrencies worth 45 million rubles. This was reported by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Irina Volk.
According to the agency, in January last year, three attackers rented an office in Moscow, equipping it for a bank building.
One of the suspects agreed with a local resident to exchange 45 million rubles for cryptocurrency at a lower cost. Then the victim handed over the money to the suspect’s accomplices. One of them took the money and hid in an unknown direction. Subsequently, the attackers divided them, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A criminal case has been opened against them on a particularly large scale fraud committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). One of the detainees is under house arrest, with respect to the other, the question of the measure of restraint is being decided.
Whether this case is connected with the former hockey player of the Slovak “Slovan” Igor Musatov, who is charged with the same article, is not known.
Recall, law enforcement authorities detained Musatov yesterday for fraud with bitcoin for $ 800 thousand. Today, the court must choose a measure of restraint for him.
