Roskomnadzor provided telecom operators with equipment to block Telegram and other resources prohibited in the Russian Federation. It is being tested on real users from Tyumen, Reuters reports citing informed sources.
This allegedly refers to the hardware and software complex of the Russian manufacturer RDP.ru , which, according to media reports, has shown the best efficiency in the laboratory.
Installation of equipment, writes Reuters, is possible thanks to the law on sovereign runet , which will enter into force on November 1.
The largest telecom operators declined to comment, and the spokesman for Roskomnadzor Vadim Ampelonsky did not respond to a Reuters request at all.
Recall that Telegram was blocked by a court decision in April last year, but from that moment its audience in Russia only grew.
