According to the speaker of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, it is necessary to accelerate work on the adoption of bills on the digitization of the Russian economy, including documents on the regulation of relations in the cryptocurrency industry .

She instructed Dmitry Mezentsov, who heads the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy, to find out why the State Duma is slow in this direction.

    Matvienko stressed :

I will ask you to understand the reasons for the lack of movement in the State Duma on the adoption of laws on the introduction of digital technologies, initiated by senators. It is necessary to establish what prevents their early adoption. If they are substandard, then you will report it and we will refine them.

This statement was made by the speaker of the upper house of parliament during a meeting of senators with Konstantin Noskov, who heads the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, TASS news agency reported.

According to Matvienko, it is necessary to address this issue as soon as possible, because the lack of mechanisms for regulating relations in the cryptosphere leads to the appearance of various shadow schemes. In addition, the business begins to withdraw from the Russian jurisdiction and launches startups in neighboring countries.

The speaker of the Federation Council said that over the next three years, the parliament should consider more than 60 draft laws in the area of introducing digital technologies and regulating relations in this area.

At the end of her speech, Matvienko called on the Ministry of Economic Development to prepare a program for the digitization of the economy as soon as possible.

We note that earlier the head of the Russian Association of Cryptoindustry and Blockchain, Yuri Pripachkin, also noted the negative situation that has developed in our legal field regarding the regulation of the cryptocurrency industry. He stressed that the state actually squeezes IT business out of Russian jurisdiction and forces them to create blockchain companies in countries where growth conditions are most comfortable.
