    MasterCard has opened a number of vacancies related to blockchain and cryptocurrencies . Apparently, the company is starting to develop infrastructure elements for the Libra cryptocurrency.

    MasterCard enters the crypt

    MasterCard is the second largest payment provider in the world, second only to Visa. However, both of these companies are declared as Facebook partners in the creation of the Libra cryptocurrency . Apparently, MasterCard moved on to its role in this large-scale project.

    Three recent vacancies appeared on the MasterCard website:

    • Vice President, Blockchain Product Management;
    • Distributed Registry Technology Engineer;
    • Head of Product Management – Cryptocurrency / Wallets.

    It is the last vacancy that makes us think that the company aimed at developing a certain blockchain product for the Libra cryptocurrency. Perhaps we are talking about some kind of storage of digital coins or their common distribution point.

    In any case, it is clear that MasterCard did not just decide to engage in research activities – the specifics of the vacancies are too accurate. Apparently, they are not afraid of the possible Libra ban by the US authorities, since they still decided to start work.

    However, this ban seems unlikely even from the point of view of logic: Zuckerberg could solve everything for a long time already at the highest level, and all this talk about potential threats is dust in the eye.
