Lightning Labs introduced the Lndmon tool for monitoring activity on the Lightning Network.
According to developer Valentine Wallace, Lndmon provides users with visual information about various aspects of the LN network, including commissions and information about payment channels and nodes. According to him, the new tool can bring a small material benefit to users who support Lightning-nodes. Lndmon can also be useful for simple bitcoin enthusiasts who want to learn more about this second-tier network.
“As the network grew over the past year, we noticed gaps in its monitoring capabilities and the lack of an easy-to-use tool with which operators could manage their nodes ,” added Wallace.
According to him, users will be able to better track the history of their payments and minimize commissions. Lndmon is easy to use and you need to take a few steps to connect the tool after starting the Lightning node.
Lightning Network is a payment protocol that allows for low-cost and instant transactions, also representing a solution to the problem of Bitcoin scalability. According to 1ML , there are currently 9155 nodes on this second-tier network, interconnecting 32,449 payment channels.
Recall that last month Lightning Labs introduced its first mobile application for Android and iOS.
