LedgerX, licensed by the CFTC Commission, launched options for BTC at $ 100,000

Exchange cryptocurrency derivatives LedgerX launched a call option on Bitcoin (BTC) with a buyback price of $ 100,000, the contracts expire in December 2020, the company said on Twitter .

A call option gives the right (but not an obligation) to the buyer to buy in the future a specified amount of the underlying asset at the price specified in the contract.

As reminded by Bloomberg, LedgerX last month received a license from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to launch Bitcoin derivatives, including futures, options, and other contracts. Cryptocurrency derivatives can now also be offered to retail investors.

Institutional investors have the opportunity to trade bitcoin derivatives on the platform for two years and have already shown a high interest in the new product, said Bloomberg, LedgerX CEO Paul Chou.

“Dozens and dozens of these institutions returned to us, saying that they would be interested in trade in such a contract. I understand that $ 100,000 is a large number, but many of us who have been in this space remember Bitcoin for $ 1 dollar, and then it reached $ 10, $ 100 and $ 10,000. The contract for $ 100,000 did not even make us blink , ”said the head of LedgerX.

Recall that the famous Bitcoin enthusiast, founder and partner of Morgan Creek Digital Anthony “Pomp” Pompliano, recently made a prediction that the first cryptocurrency will reach a price of $ 100,000. But, in his opinion, this will happen a year later than the contracts proposed by LedgerX will end.

The BTC price of $ 100,000 as a target for the current parabolic cryptocurrency phase was also called a trader and technical analyst Peter Brandt. But he did not set the time frame.
