The IOTA Foundation team announced the compatibility of their MIOTA tokens with the popular Ledger hardware wallet .

According to reports in the IOTA blog:

“Ledger wallets integrate with IOTA Trinity and Romeo wallets and isolate user account keys from a PC or smartphone, providing another level of security.”

Users were also able to verify MIOTA transactions on their Ledger Nano S hardware wallet as part of the security protocol.

As Ledger CEO Eric Larshevek (Eric Larchevêque) noted, ensuring a high level of safety and quality is the main focus for both Ledger and IOTA.

“Collaboration between the teams created a direct synergistic effect, focused on developing compatibility that allows you to access, store and manage IOTA tokens on Ledger devices ,” added Larshevek.

Recall that IOTA is an open source distributed registry. It was designed to provide scalable zero-cost transactions for the Internet of Things (IoT). Previously, the Japanese corporation FujitsuI, in partnership with the IOTA Foundation, began the development of a new protocol standard in the production of IT devices – Industry 4.0.

On the eve of the company Ledger announced the expansion of its presence in the Asian region with the opening of an office in Hong Kong.
