McAfee, known for his bold assumption that Bitcoin will reach $ 500 thousand in 2020, has doubled its stakes on the future of cryptocurrency – in an interview with Forbes representatives, the programmer said that in 2020 BTC will increase to the level of $ 1 million per coin.
McAfee believes that the main trigger for the growth of the BTC will be its deficit. It is known that the issue of cryptocurrency is limited to 21 million coins, a certain part of which was lost forever.
He declared:
“Let's really look at the state of things, there are only 21 million BTC coins, 7 million of which are lost forever, moreover, if Satoshi is dead, then a few million more can be added to this number.”
The number of mined BTC coins has already reached 17,850,000 on August 1, that is, 85% of the entire cryptocurrency issue is already in circulation. Over the next 120 years, 3.15 million coins will be mined.
