Developers decided to postpone the Istanbul update on the Ethereum network to the beginning of next month. This was reported by the portal Cryptobtcmining.com with reference to the representative of the Ethereum Foundation team Hudson Jameson.
A hard fork is due to take place in early October; currently, developers are trying to agree on the block number on which the update will take place.
Recall, the developers at the end of August announced the transfer of the Istanbul fork to October. Then it was announced that the update should go through two stages. The first phase was planned for October, and the second for the first quarter of 2020.
Hudson Jameson stated:
“For those who do not know how this works, we select the block number, which will be determined around October 2. However, it may be one or two days later or earlier than that date. ”
Everything will depend on how quickly blocks are formed on the blockchain, a representative of the ethereum team said.
Note that recently the co-founder of the project, Ethereum Vitalik Buterin, once again highlighted the unresolved problem of network scaling, which prevents the increase in the number of its users.
