The developers of the hardware wallets Trezor decided to keep up with their competitors in the face of the company Ledger, which continues to delight its users with the constant addition of the number of supported cryptocurrencies, and also carried out a significant expansion of the assets available for storage.

This Wednesday they announced the release of firmware version 2.0.9 for Trezor Model T devices and version 1.7.1 for Trezor One. Both firmwares can be downloaded via the Trezor beta portal .

As the company explains, many aspects of the new Trezor Model T firmware have been reworked from scratch. This includes rewriting the domain code using the Python programming language, which more developers are familiar with, while C was originally used for this.

“This decision was great, and proof of this is the great contribution of the community in developing the latest firmware for Trezor Model T,” she writes.

With firmware 2.0.9, support appears in Trezor Model T :

    • Monero ,
    • Cardano ,
    • Stellar
    • XRP ,
    • Tezos,
    • Decred ,
    • Groestlcoin
    • Lisk,
    • Zencash
    • Zcash (in the version that was launched on the blockchain, together with the Sapling hard box , held in late October).

Wallet Trezor One in firmware 1.7.1 received support for the WebUSB interface, including for the TPM password manager. This allows you to connect your device through Google Chrome directly without the need to use Trezor Bridge. In Trezor Model T, WebUSB support was initially.

Support has been added to Trezor One:

    • Lisk,
    • Stellar
    • Zcash (updated version).

Recall that in October, Trezor Model T had the opportunity to directly convert cryptocurrencies.
