During a speech at the Yalta International Economic Forum, presidential adviser Sergei Glazyev suggested introducing cryptocurrency in the Crimea. This was reported by Tass.

In his opinion, this will help reduce cross-border barriers and attract investors.

“What prevents to create in the Crimea such an experimental platform, which many countries of the world work with? Given the huge demand in the long term for housing and sanatorium-resort construction, you need to release a stable digital unit, say, tied to square meters. m square. Having carried out procedures for the placement of such tokens, raise money in Russia and in the world for investment in large-scale health resort education construction, ”the presidential adviser suggested.

Glazyev explained that digital assets, such as cryptocurrencies, such as stablecoins tied to gold or other tangible assets, "pass through the border, they are not afraid of sanctions."

According to Glazyev, in five years the volume of the economy of the Crimea will grow by another one and a half times, and in ten years – more than twice.

To attract investment in the Crimea created blockchain platform "Tavrida"

The head of the working group on international legal issues at the Permanent Representation of Crimea under the President of the Russian Federation, Alexander Molokhov, during the Yalta International Economic Forum, informed RIAN about creating a blockchain solution that will allow attracting investments to the peninsula to bypass sanctions.

“The International Association“ Tavrida ”will support the eponymous venture fund, which has already created its own platform based on the blockchain technology , which makes it possible to invest in Crimea without sanctions and using the SWIFT interbank transfer system ,” explained Molokhov.

Earlier, to solve problems with banking services in the occupied Crimea, it was proposed to create a cryptocluster and release its own cryptocurrency. A year ago, the president of the Russian Association of Cryptocurrency and Blockchain (RACIB), Yuri Pripachkin, said that his organization was working on a project to create a Crimean regional cryptocurrency. A few months ago , it was reported that foreign investors are showing interest in the blockchain project in Crimea.
