Google Trends data shows that in 2018, Bitcoin became the most popular search query in the “What is …?” Category among Internet users in the US and the UK.

In the USA, bitcoin by this request, for example, bypassed “What is racketeering?” And “What is the suspension of public institutions?”, In the UK – “What is a GDPR?” And “What is a nerve agent?”

Note that Bitcoin was not the only cryptocurrency-related term that ended up on top of Google Trends.

So, the search query “How to buy a Ripple?” Turned out to be very popular. In the US, he was in fourth place, while the query “How to buy bitcoin” took only eighth place. In the UK, the query “How to buy a Ripple?” Was in seventh place.

In early November, Google Trends data showed that since September, the number of search queries for the word "Blockchain" has increased compared to the queries of "Cryptocurrency".
