The head of the International Monetary Fund told how the financial world will change in the near future.

The International Monetary Fund, on its official page on the social network Twitter, conducted a poll, asking the question: "How do you plan to pay for your lunch in a cafe in five years?"

The survey involved 37660 unique Twitter users, of which 56% said that cryptocurrency will be the means of payment. Cash was chosen by only 8%, and the success of bank cards, whether debit or credit, is small — only 9% of those who participated in the study intend to pay.

The fact that such a result is not accidental was indirectly confirmed by the head of the IMF, Christine Lagarde: the organization apparently decided to be convinced of this situation, having obtained data from other sociological studies.

On the day when the IMF poll was launched on Twitter, Lagarde spoke on the American television channel CNBC, where she predicted a bleak future for the world's banking system. According to her, such serious changes are coming when “a huge mass of cryptocurrencies and tokens” will perform the functions that are characteristic of credit organizations. The “withering away” of bank cards, as the survey showed, fits into this trend.

At the same time, Lagarde believes that the JPMorgan experiment with the launch of JPM Coin’s own stablecombing will be very successful, and in itself it indicates that banks have gradually integrated their activities with the cryptocurrency world. Meanwhile, in the cryptocurrency community there are those who believe that such a digital asset may have nothing to do with the blockchain at all , so it becomes impossible to consider it a cryptocurrency.

However, Lagarde believes, in contrast to JPMorgan head Jamie Dimon, that JPM Coin will develop more among institutional players than go "to the people", which Dimon hopes.
