Gazprom introduces the blockchain, Medvedev approved and urged to share experience

Alexey Miller, head of the Russian gas giant Gazprom, told Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev about the implementation of a distributed registry technology .

According to Miller, the company, together with Gazprombank, has developed a prototype platform, which makes it possible to automatically enter into contracts based on blockchain technology.

“Together with Gazprombank, a prototype was developed providing for the automation of the conclusion, monitoring and execution of contracts. The development involves both automatic arbitration and the calculation of payments for gas , ”said the head of Gazprom.

Miller stressed that the system is fully accessible to all parties to the contract, protected from unauthorized interference and unauthorized changes.

Medvedev offered to share experiences

Medvedev, in turn, approved the initiative and offered to share the acquired experience with other companies.

“This is a very important factor in the development of our industry – the creation of samples that are superior to foreign analogues, the use of modern digital technologies. Including – the Internet of things, and technology, which is called the blockchain, " – said the prime minister.
