France: in 2020, 30 major retailers will support Bitcoin payments, including Decathlon and Sephora

In the first quarter of 2020, 30 French retailers will start supporting Bitcoin payments, among them the sports goods giant Decathlon and the company that sells cosmetic products – Sephora.

Thanks to the new crypto project, in which Global POS, Easy Wallet, Easy2Play take part, payments with BTC will be available in 25 thousand retail outlets. Payment will be made directly in cryptocurrency, however, at the time of payment, BTC will be converted to EUR. The conversion process is entrusted to Savitar and Deskion, which currently receive everything necessary for this permission from the local regulator. It is known that the new project was also joined by: FootLocker, World House, Maisons du Monde, Intersport, as well as Boulanger, Norauto and Cultura.

Stefan Gian, head of Global POS, explained that this initiative will have a significant impact on the development of various payment methods for goods and services throughout France. In addition, Gian believes that this will effectively tune in to "Economy 3.0". In the future, the system will also support altcoins.
