Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss expect that by 2021 digital currencies will enter the business of all four companies from the FANG group (Facebook, Amazon, Netflix and Google). They stated this in a conversation with CNBC at the beginning of the week.
Commenting on the announcement of Facebook cryptocurrency, the founding brothers of the Gemini exchange noted that launching similar tools by other companies in the technology sector is only a matter of time.
“We predict that each company from FANG will begin to lead a cryptocurrency project in the next two years ,” said Tyler.
At the same time, the brothers maintain the position of regulators who seek to resolve all existing contradictions before giving the green light to the initiative. They also expressed their willingness to add support for Libra cryptocurrency on Gemini, if there is a technical and legal opportunity for this.
“We will carefully study Libra. If it is based on an open protocol, it will sometime be able to get listed. This is possible , ”added Tyler.
The brothers do not exclude that their own stock exchange can enter the Libra Association in order to manage the project. Currently, the only cryptocurrency exchange within the organization is Coinbase.
