THORWallet, a non-custodial mobile-first wallet bridging DeFi and TradFi, has announced integration with NEAR Intents, enabling users to access new cross-chain swap routes across dozens of blockchains including Stellar, Solana, Bitcoin, Ethereum and many more. The upgrade enhances THORWallet’s multi-chain liquidity reach and aims to make asset swaps more seamless and chain-agnostic than ever.

With the integration of NEAR Intents, THORWallet opens a next-generation cross-chain swap experience. Traditional cross-chain transfers have often depended on bridging assets or wrapping tokens, which introduces complexity, counter-party risk, and higher fees. NEAR Intents offers a different paradigm: users simply declare their “intent” (e.g., swap token A on chain X for token B on chain Y) and the protocol handles routing, liquidity sourcing and execution across networks. This means THORWallet users can now move liquidity across a broad spectrum of chains — including Stellar, Solana, BNB Chain, Bitcoin, Ethereum and more — in one unified interface, using both mobile and web apps.

THORWallet has already integrated major chains and platforms (THORChain, Maya, Chainflip, Unizen, 1inch) but the addition of NEAR Intents marks a significant leap: the wallet aspires to be chain-agnostic rather than just multi-chain. Its CEO states that this step brings the vision of “move liquidity freely between ecosystems without ever giving up custody” closer to reality.

The growth indicators support this push: THORWallet reports swap volume surpassing USD 1.7 billion across hundreds of thousands of transactions, and revenues above USD 3.8 million — signalling rising user adoption and deeper liquidity participation.

    Cross-Chain ambition meets intent-based routing

On the NEAR Intents side, the statistics are also compelling. The protocol has processed over USD 2.5 billion in volume and supported more than six million swaps across 123 assets in under a year, with one month alone hitting nearly USD 483 million in trading volume. These metrics highlight a growing demand for effective cross-chain routing without the friction of bridges or wrapped assets.

However, adoption and execution are only part of the story. Challenges remain: token-routing across chains must ensure liquidity, minimal slippage, security in custody and routing, and transparency in transaction pathways. Wallets and protocols alike must build user-friendly interfaces to demystify cross-chain movements for non-technical users. For THORWallet, the strategic value is clear: enabling users to hold their keys, swap across chains seamlessly and tap into increasingly diverse liquidity pools.

In summary: THORWallet’s integration with NEAR Intents could mark a pivotal moment in cross-chain usability — making multi-chain swaps feel more like on-chain native trades rather than logistics projects.
