A member of the gambling EOS-application community Se7ens took advantage of the vulnerability of a smart contract and accrued one billion tokens, which soon mysteriously evaporated. Reported by TheNextWeb .
Shortly before this, the developers of the E7-game Se7ens announced that they would distribute half of the entire supply of tokens (seven billion in total) among EOS holders. It was decided that each account will receive 10 thousand tokens.
However, something went wrong: the screenshot below shows that one of the accounts received a billion SEVEN tokens:
Soon, these tokens mysteriously disappeared from the account, which caused dissatisfaction of its owner.
“After I talked about what happened in Reddit, they [SE7EN] quietly cut my balance to 100 thousand tokens, calling it a reward for the identified bug ,” the account owner complains. – In the transaction history there is no such record, but the tokens magically disappeared. It turns out that the project may, at its discretion, change the balance sheets. I ask myself, with such an approach to assets, are they going to be listed on the stock exchange? ”
Thus, the bug allowed the user to charge himself an amount 100 thousand times higher than that established by the rules of the Airdrop campaign.
Note that a month ago a similar story happened with the Trybe platform. The project also conducted airdrop and mistakenly charged users with amounts four times higher than planned. Having noticed an error, representatives of Trybe wrote off excess tokens from their accounts, using the corresponding function in their smart contract.
Earlier, BlockchainJournal reported that a vulnerability in the DEOSBet EOS application allowed the player to get the win several times in a row.
Also recall, in August, the developers of EOS discovered a bug that allows fraudsters to steal users' RAM resources.
