A married couple from Kursk, together with four accomplices, sold drugs and laundered the funds received through the EXMO cryptocurrency exchange, reports 46tv.ru.
The group began its criminal activities in the summer of 2017. Spouses received large quantities of prohibited substances in several regions of Russia, transported them and hid in caches. The accomplices took the goods at the appointed place and then sold them.
"One of the group members made financial transactions with money from the sale of drugs through the international cryptocurrency exchange EXMO, " said Kursk District Deputy Prosecutor Kirill Pankov.
The court sentenced members of the group to 4-8 years in prison and ordered the payment of fines. The verdict has not yet entered into force.
Recall that in Perm a gang member who traded in drugs for cryptocurrency was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
