According to Bitrefill, this week Coinbase cryptobirds users will be able to use the Lighting Network in their accounts.

This integration was made possible by the simple and fast Bitrefill Thor Lightning service, which provides access to the second-tier payment network of the Lightning Network. In practice, Thor Lightning automatically opens a payment channel that connects directly to the Bitrefill Lighting Network site.

In addition, Bitrefill released Thor Turbo, the first product that allows users to avoid long confirmation times on the network.

In addition, Bitrefill allows you to use some APIs, ThorAPI, which can be used by cryptocurrency exchanges to directly integrate Lightning into their platforms.

In this regard, Bitrefill COO John Carvalho said:

“We decided to demonstrate the new service using the previously existing integration with the Coinbase API for user accounts. Thus, Bitrefill demonstrates that any cryptoplatform can access the Lightning network, regardless of whether they currently support Lightning technology or not.

Lightning allows cryptographic trading to work on the instantaneous movement of Bitcoin (BTC) and to coordinate the necessary liquidity for this. Soon, you will see how the big exchanges, which open up veils or wumbo channels with each other and with Bitrefill, will reveal the possibilities of Lightning. ”

As the data show, there are currently more than 8,000 bitcoin nodes with more than 34,000 channels and a current capacity of 944 bitcoins (BTC) in the Lightning network.
