Leading US cryptocurrency company Coinbase announced the launch of a Visa debit card for UK customers. Using the new card, British Coinbase users will be able to pay for goods and services both online and in physical locations, as well as withdraw cash from ATMs.
Due to the binding to an account on the main platform, Coinbase Card can be used to calculate Bitcoin and other supported cryptocurrency including Ethereum and litecoin . When performing operations, the Coinbase Card instantly converts cryptocurrencies into Fiat .
Card ordering is carried out through an application for Android or iOS . With it, users can choose which of the cryptocurrency wallets will be used to write off funds, as well as receive detailed statistics about their expenses.
Daily limits are also set: this amount is up to £ 10,000 for spending money and £ 500 for cash withdrawals. Transactions are subject to a commission of 2.49% (1.49% for the conversion of cryptocurrency + 1% for the processing of the transaction). For cash withdrawals of more than £ 200 per month, a fee of 1% will be charged.
As noted in the message, currently the service is available only to residents of the UK, but in the coming months, Coinbase plans to expand it to other European countries.
Since November 2015, a Californian company has offered its users a Coinbase Shift Visa debit card, but since April 11, their service program is being completed.
