The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) decided to fine $ 990,000 from Marshall Islands, 1pool Ltd, also known as 1Broker, as well as its founder, Patrick Brunner, to be fined.

The accusations against the organization and its heads were put forward due to the violation of federal laws by the company and the implementation of sales schemes for bitcoin swaps with securities characteristics.

Also, according to the regulator, the trade was conducted without complying with “controlled investment limits” and without registering as an intermediary in the market of fixed-term contracts, as well as with violations of AML procedures. Among the clients of 1pool Ltd were citizens of the United States and other countries.

Imposed CFTC penalty is $ 175 thousand. In addition, the company is obliged to return $ 246 thousand illegally obtained profits. Among other things, users of the platform from the USA 1pool should return almost 93 BTC.

Recall that last year the CFTC published a guide for exchanges and clearing centers planning to start working with derivative financial instruments based on cryptocurrencies.
