The Singapore-based BitTorrent Foundation announced the launch of its own BitTorrent (BTT) token on the TRON network, which will be used by users to optimize the speed of downloading content in the same-name network ecosystem for cooperative file sharing.
The tokens will support the native TRON protocol – TRC-10 and will be the company's first attempt to monetize the transfer of content.
At the same time, they will be exclusively distributed to non-US residents via Launchpad – the revived crowdfunding platform of the Binance cryptobirth – or during the airdrop campaigns planned for January. In addition, tokens will be implemented in the µTorrent Classic client.

BitTorrent management considers its protocol, existing since 2004, the world's largest decentralized P2P network and hopes to use BTT to create a decentralized platform for distributing content using cryptocurrency .
Recall information that the creator of TRON Justin Sun (Justin Sun) is considering buying BitTorrent Inc. (renamed Rainberry), appeared in May 2018, and in late July, the blockchain project closed a deal to take over the company.
According to the Atlas project, at the first stage of project integration, it was planned to connect the BitTorrent peering network to the TRON blockchain to use the TRX token.
