The Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Coincheck has launched an OTC platform for large investors. The minimum transaction threshold is 50 BTC.

The over-the-counter platform will operate on weekdays from 01:00 to 06:00 UTC. Also, the new product does not support the Coincheck application and API trading.

Note that the exchange intends to add support for other cryptocurrencies at the site in the future, but at the moment, only Bitcoin will be available to large investors.

Recall similar OTC platforms have already launched Asian giants OKEx , Huobi , Bithumb and Binance .

Last year, Coincheck fell victim to a mashstatabnoy hacker attack, during which more than $ 500 million in XEM-equivalent was stolen .

Then the exchange was bought by a large online broker Monex Group Inc. The transaction amount was $ 33.6 million.

In early 2019, the Japan Financial Services Agency (FSA) allowed Coincheck to continue working.
